Winnie Gitau is the founder and executive director of Winnie’s Pure Health, a company producing, packaging and selling natural food products such as herbal teas, brown rice and honey.

She is a lawyer by training and runs a successful consulting company. After attending a health workshop in the United States, she became a strong believer and advocate for healthy eating and living. She studied wellness in the United States as well as in India, deciding to start the company after being unable to find the healthy food she was promoting.

The company was established in 2003 with an initial four products, but has since grown to produce over 40 products. The employee number has also grown from an initial 10 to more than 100.

It is today a full Corporate Social Responsibility organisation employing needy people and women from the slums. It also offers free education on healthy nutrition.
