Elizabeth Omolo is one of the pioneer female radio broadcasters in Kenya. She hosted various programmes at the Voice of Kenya (VoK) English Service, one of independent Kenya’s first radio stations, in the 1970s.

She is remembered for her popular shows Hello Children and The Breakfast Club, and also for hosting the famous music programme Sundowner.

Omolo doubled up as producer of Thursday Evening Concert, a programme that showcased classical music. She was also a newscaster on both television and radio.

She rose through the ranks to become Head of the English Service and then Head of Metro FM before leaving KBC for Royal Media Services (RMS).

Until 2016, the veteran broadcaster was head of Ramogi FM, the vernacular radio station run by RMS, where she was also a programme presenter.
