Muthoni Kimani is the deputy solicitor general in Kenya. Her influence in the department is evident as she has steered reforms in the Civil Litigation department, leading it to become vibrant and competitive.

Kimani, whose career in the civil service began in 1985 as a state counsel has also served as a director at the Assets Recovery Agency.

This is an organisation tasked with freezing accounts or assets deemed to have been acquired through fraudulent or corrupt means and making them available to the public again.

She has represented the Kenya Government in major constitutional matters and civil cases resulting from the loss of huge public funds. Kimani was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) for her commitment and dedication to duty.
