HEALTHCARE

Since its independence in 1963, Kenya has prioritized the health of its citizens, aiming for Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board in partnership with the Ministry of Health published a comprehensive report on the status of Kenya’s pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in 2020.The publication, titled “Road to Universal Health Coverage” detailed the tremendous progress Kenyan has made in improving access to health services for those living at the bottom of the social and economic development index. It also laid out some of the many challenges that remain. By 2030, Kenya aims to achieve UHC, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO): affordable, quality health services for all, without financial hardship.
