Sheila M’Mbijjewe is the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya. She was appointed to this office by the President of Kenya in June 2015. Prior to this appointment, she has served in high profile positions in banking and
related institutions. She has served on the boards of several companies, including Standard Chartered Bank where she was a director, Ecobank where she was a non-executive director, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Stagecoach International. M’Mbijjewe also served on the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank for nine years.
She is passionate about having more women in senior management in the banking sector, and is of the opinion that a lot remains to be done to this end.
