Ciru Miring’u is the first Kenyan female manager of an international brand. She was appointed as the head of Nestlé’s East African operations in 2014. Nestlé is the world’s leading nutrition, health and wellness company; it is based in Switzerland.
Before taking over as head of Nestlé, she served as the General Manager in charge of Africa nutrition ventures at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Miring’u joined Nestlé with over 15 years’ experience in fast moving consumer goods
(FMCG) within sales, marketing and general management as part of the company’s investment in local talent.
The entrepreneur holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Zoology from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s in Business Administration and Marketing from the United States International University.
